John Boswell is the senior vice president of Special Projects for Sam’s Club. After almost twenty years at Kraft Foods, John joined Sam’s Club in October 2010 as the senior vice president of proprietary brands. He moved into his current position in May 2011.
John started with Kraft Foods in 1991 as the associate brand manager on Velveeta Cheese. During his tenure at Kraft he held positions in marketing, strategy, sales, and general management. His most recent position was president of the $2 billion Kraft Pizza Company. Prior to Kraft, John worked in various sales positions for General Mills.
He has been actively involved in coaching youth athletics and has served on the Board of Directors for the American Frozen Food Institute, the Chicago Children’s Museum, and the Skokie Illinois District 68 School Board. John is an Eagle Scout and continues to be very active in Scouting. He is also very involved in his local church congregation.
John earned a master’s degree in business administration from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University and has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah. John was born in Provo, Utah and grew up in California and Utah. He and his wife of almost 30 years have five children and a grandchild on the way.
