When dinner calls for a more sophisticated side, just toss asparagus spears on the stove and whip up this smooth and tangy sauce in seconds.

Be sure not to microwave the sauce for too long or it will curdle. If the sauce gives off a little oil in heating, beat with a whisk to reincorporate the oil.
Ingredients
- 1 lb. asparagus spears
- 1/2 cup(s) mayonnaise
- 1/4 tsp. grated lemon peel
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- pinch ground red pepper
Cooking Directions
- Bring a large pan of salted water to a boil. Add the asparagus and cook until bright green and nearly tender, 1 to 2 minutes. Drain well.
- In small microwavable bowl, mix remaining ingredients. Microwave on high 10 to 15 seconds or until just warm, and serve over cooked asparagus.
