The perfect dessert for a cool night. This can be prepared and refrigerated a day or two before baking and serving.
Ingredients
Topping
- 1/2 cup(s) butter
- 1/2 cup(s) flour
- 1/2 cup(s) Quaker® Oats
- 3/4 cup(s) Diamond® Shelled Walnuts
- 2/3 cup(s) packed C&H® Golden Brown Sugar
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ground ginger or nutmeg
Filling
- 1 cup(s) Sun-Maid® Raisins
- 1 1/2 lb. Gala or pippin apples, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp. orange peel, grated
- 1/2 cup(s) sugar (or to taste)
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- Land O’Lakes™ Whipped Light Cream
Cooking Directions
- In a food processor, pulse the flour and butter until they’re the texture of coarse sand. Transfer to a bowl and combine with remaining topping ingredients.
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter an 8x8-inch casserole dish.
- Combine all apple-filling ingredients in a bowl and toss to mix.
- To assemble, place apple-filling ingredients into the buttered baking dish. Cover with the topping mixture and bake about 40 to 45 minutes or until bubbling and the fruit is tender.
- Serve warm, topped with whipped cream.
