Jeff Gruener is senior vice president of planning, replenishment and innovations for Sam’s Club. He joined Sam’s Club in 2012 as vice president of merchandising, membership, marketing, logistics and eCommerce finance. Prior to his role at Sam’s club, Jeff was vice president of general merchandise finance and strategy – Walmart U.S, where he was responsible for financial planning and strategy for Walmart’s general merchandise businesses. Jeff started his career with Walmart as senior director, international strategic planning.
In addition to the roles Jeff has held at Wal-Mart, he held various roles at Sears Holdings Corporation. His most recent role was vice president of store planning, which included store layout, space optimization and modular planning. Other roles at Sears Holdings included vice president of brand management and vice president of corporate strategy. Prior to Sears, Jeff was at Ernst & Young’s strategic advisory services practice. Prior to E&Y, Jeff worked in various roles at AlliedSignal; including, finance and business development. He started his career as a product design engineer at Ford Motor Company.
Jeff earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Michigan.
Jeff and his wife, Allyson, have one daughter, Abigail.
