BENTONVILLE, Ark., Jan. 3, 2013 – With the start of 2013, many Americans set out to achieve New Year’s resolutions related to improving health or saving money. While nine in 10 people say they do not achieve their New Year’s resolutions*, Sam’s Club kicks off 2013 with five free health screenings to help Americans maintain their health and financial resolutions. Members and non-members can resolve to be healthy Saturday, Jan. 12 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at all Sam’s Club locations with a pharmacy.
The screenings include free in-Club health tests**valued at up to $100, including:
- Total cholesterol
- Blood pressure
- Body mass index (BMI)
- Vision screening/testing***
“The start of a new year provides a perfect opportunity to reflect on the personal changes we want to make and to commit to a healthier lifestyle,” said Jill Turner-Mitchael, senior vice president, Sam’s Club Health and Wellness. “By offering free health and vision screenings now, Sam’s Club will help our communities assess the current status of their health and set realistic goals for 2013 and beyond.”
With more than 2.2 million free health and wellness screenings provided in U.S. Sam’s Club locations since 2011, Sam’s Club will continue to serve communities with free screenings
every second Saturday of the month through October 2013. Free health screenings support Sam’s Club commitment to build awareness and provide solutions for healthy living to the communities we serve. In 2012, Sam’s Club Pharmacy program was ranked highest in customer satisfaction among mass merchandiser pharmacies in the J.D. Power and Associates 2012 U.S. Pharmacy StudySM±.
Pharmacy patients can now take charge of their health with every Sam’s Club visit at the SoloHealth Station, an interactive, comprehensive health and wellness screening kiosk found in all Sam’s Club locations with a pharmacy (563).The SoloHealth Station provides screenings for vision, blood pressure, weight, and body mass index, a symptom checker as well as an overall health assessment free of charge.
