Relocated Sam’s Club Offers Convenience in Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi, Texas, Oct. 21, 2013— After serving Corpus Christi for more than two decades, Sam’s Club will open its new club in the city at 4833 South Padre Island Dr. following an 8 a.m. Grand Opening ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 24. The membership warehouse club, relocating from its current location, will continue to give residents and small business owners the opportunity to access incredible savings on quality products and will provide additional value with a new fuel station.

“We have been a member of this community for many years and appreciate all of the support we have been provided,” said Club Manager Stephanie Calderon. “By relocating to a more convenient location for our members and adding additional services, we feel this is a reinvestment not only into our business, but also for the members we have served for a quarter century.”

Grand Opening ceremony features local officials, special events

The Grand Opening ceremony will feature presentations by Corpus Christi Mayor Nelda Martinez and Chamber of Commerce President Foster Edwards. The celebration will also include posting of the colors by the Carroll High School ROTC, followed by a performance of the national anthem from the Carroll High School choir.

During the Grand Opening, Sam’s Club will showcase a variety of special events inside the club. Young Pecan, owned by nearby King Ranch, will be onsite with a variety of treats for Opening Day. Other attractions will include Bulletproof Energy Drinks and Chef Shamy’s Gourmet Butters.

To continue its commitment to provide value to the community, Sam’s Club will offer special savings on featured products for the Grand Opening, including savings on a VIZIO 60-inch class LED HDTV, an HP 15.6-inch notebook, and USDA choice beef ribeye steak, among others. These limited-time offers will only be available Opening Day through Sunday, Oct. 27, while supplies last.

New club continues tradition with donations, members-only conveniences

The Corpus Christi club will present grants to local organizations in the amount of $10,000 and will award sponsorships totaling $15,000 to the community.

“My top priority as manager is to serve the Corpus Christi area, and giving back to organizations that are bettering our community is one of the many ways we’re doing that,” Calderon said. “We constantly strive to be an intricate thread in the community by providing opportunities to those who will make it a better place to live.”

Measuring approximately 136,000 square feet, the new club will feature a variety of members-only amenities, including a fresh bakery, a tire and battery center, a café and a fuel station.

A number of health and wellness services are also available. The Sam’s Club pharmacy, open to both members and the public, features many $4 and $10 generic prescriptions, as well as extraordinary savings on branded prescriptions. The opticalcenter offers $40 off each additional pair of regularly priced prescription eyeglasses with the purchase of a complete pair of eyeglasses at regular price. Lastly, at the hearing aid center, premium technology in hearing aids and personal listening devices is available from a certified audiologist.

New club built to minimize environmental impact, support small business

As a steward of the communities it serves, Sam’s Club utilizes a variety of environmentally friendly materials and energy-efficient fixtures, including daylight-harvesting skylights that reduce the amount of energy required to light the store by up to 75 percent daily. LED lighting throughout the club, including in the cooler and freezer box doors and jewelry counter, operates 70 percent more efficiently than traditional fluorescent lighting.

Busy families can rely on fresh produce, quality meats and home meal solutions, while office supplies, vending machine snacks and paper goods prepare small business members for success. Additional benefits for small business owners include early shopping hours, personal shopping through Click ‘n’ Pull, truckload savings and access to quality items most often used by foodservice businesses, restaurant owners and caterers.
