Sam’s Club Announces Plans to Build New Club in Sheboygan

Sheboygan, Wis. – March 4, 2014 –Sam’s Club announced today that the company has submitted plans to the Town of Sheboygan to convert a former Menard's Self Storage Facility to a new Sam's Club.

“The Town is very pleased to welcome a new Sam's Club to the community,” says Town Chairman Dan Hein. “A Sam's Club in the Town of Sheboygan will reinvigorate our commercial corridor and provide approximately 140 quality jobs to the area as well as add a vital increase to Town’s tax base. We look forward to working with a retailer as strong as Sam's Club to make this new development a reality."

The proposed 137,000 square-foot Sam’s Club will be located at the southeast corner of I-43 and County Road J in Eastern Sheboygan County and will include a members-only fueling station. Sam’s Club has also proposed developing two outlots, expanding the Town’s retail offerings and increasing commerce in the Town of Sheboygan.

"We are excited to offer our current and future Sheboygan members a convenient new Sam’s Club, allowing them to stock up and save on a variety of family and small business needs. Right now, members are driving to Clubs in Milwaukee, Appleton or Waukesha and through this new club, we hope to provide a more convenient location for our members,” said Craig McNair, regional vice president for the Sam’s Club Great Lakes Region. “We are pleased to bring the benefits of Sam's Club membership closer to Sheboygan small businesses and residents."

The membership warehouse club will offer families fresh produce, quality meats and home meal solutions. Small business can take advantage of office supplies, vending machine snacks and paper goods in addition to early shopping hours, personal shopping through Click ‘n’ Pull, truck-load savings and access to quality items most often used by foodservice businesses, restaurant owners and caterers. The proposed club will also feature a variety of members-only amenities, including a fresh bakery, a tire and battery center and a café.

In preparation for a tentative 2015 opening, Sam's Club and Menards will work together to relocate the existing self-storage tenants before construction begins.
