SAM’S CLUB GRAND OPENING HONORS LAKE CHARLES COMMUNITY
Grand opening activities will include ribbon cutting ceremony with more than $29,500 in charitable contribution; more than 1 million dollars in tax revenue expected to be generated for the City of Lake Charles.
As the Lake Charles community reemerges from the destruction of Hurricane Rita, SAM’S CLUB, located 2025 SAM’S Way will pause to honor those who’ve made a difference throughout Calcasieu County during a special ribbon cutting ceremony and grant presentation, Thursday, November 3, at 9:30 a.m., to celebrate the more than 30,000 feet expansion of the Club. Community leaders, local dignitaries, grant recipients, and area small business owners are all expected to participate in the festivities.
“We are proud to be a part of this great community and be able to provide the supplies that many of the folks need as we all attempt to recover from Hurricane Rita’s devastation,” said Steve Schnake, general manager. “The citizens of Lake Charles and the surrounding areas can count on us to offer quality brands and additional benefits at Every Day Low Cost, as we attempt to help rebuild our community.”
SAM’S CLUB provides a range of additional small business services and benefits that help entrepreneurs increase productivity and profitability, including:
- Gold Key hours that reserve the entire Club exclusively for business members to shop before normal operating hours.
- Business services, including payroll, insurance, and retirement planning that simplify administration and financial management tasks.
- Click ‘n’ Pull and Fax ‘n’ Pull are both complimentary express ordering services which allow members to order online at samsclub.com or place their orders via fax. Orders placed by 5 p.m. will be pulled and ready for pickup by 7 a.m. the following day. A Vital Impact to the Community The expansion will create more than 40 new jobs, and will generate additional sales tax revenue for Lake Charles. During the ribbon cutting ceremony, Club associates will contribute more than $29,500 to area non-profit organizations through the company’s Good.Works. community involvement program.
