Bigger, Better Sam's Club To Generate More Than $1 Million In Tax Revenue For Municipality

BIGGER, BETTER SAM’S CLUB TO GENERATE MORE THAN $1 MILLION IN TAX REVENUE FOR MUNICIPALITY
Grand opening activities will include ribbon cutting ceremony with more than $15,600 in charitable contributions.

Entrepreneurs throughout Allegheny County are all clamoring to get a glimpse at the new look of their SAM’S CLUB, located at 3621 William Penn Hwy. The Club will hold a special ribbon cutting ceremony and grant presentation, Thursday, November 3, at 9:30 a.m., to celebrate the 30,000 foot expansion of the Club. Mayor James Lomeo, Chad Amond, and daycare owner Cindy Frank will be on hand to assist more than 200 Club associates in the festivities.

“Small businesses are important to us because they are the backbone and engine of our economy,” said Bernie Dolansky, general manager. “By offering quality brands and additional benefits at Every Day Low Cost, we will continue to help small businesses in this community succeed.”

SAM’S CLUB provides a range of additional small business services and benefits that help entrepreneurs increase productivity and profitability, including:

  • Gold Key hours that reserve the entire Club exclusively for business members to shop before normal operating hours.
  • Business services, including payroll, insurance, and retirement planning that simplify administration and financial management tasks.
  • Click ‘n’ Pull and Fax ‘n’ Pull are both complimentary express ordering services which allow members to order online at samsclub.com or place their orders via fax. Orders placed by 5 p.m. will be pulled and ready for pickup by 7 a.m. the following day. This added service provides members convenience and is used largely by business members as a time savings benefit.

A Vital Impact to the Community

The expansion will create 25 new jobs, and will generate additional sales tax revenue for Monroeville. Additionally, through its charitable giving initiative, the company is committed to making a positive impact on the communities it serves. During the ribbon cutting ceremony, Club associates will contribute more than $15,600 to area non-profit organizations through the company’s Good.Works. community involvement program.

The Monroeville SAM’S CLUB will feature several new departments including, a pharmacy, optical, café, and gasoline station, but will continue to offer excellent service in our Tire and Batteries area, 1-hour photo, optical department, café, pharmacy, floral, bakery and choice meat department, frozen foods and fresh produce. Regular hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; and Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Special early morning Gold Key Hours for business members are 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Monday through Friday, and 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
