Grand opening activities will include ribbon cutting ceremony with more than $24,500 in charitable contributions

Entrepreneurs throughout Macomb County are all clamoring to get a glimpse at the new look of their SAM’S CLUB, located at 45600 Utica Park Blvd. The Club will hold a special ribbon cutting ceremony and grant presentation, Thursday, November 17, at 9:30 a.m., to celebrate the 30,000 foot expansion of the Club. Community leaders, grant recipients, and small business owners will be on hand to assist more than 230 Club associates in the festivities.

“Since 1994, SAM’S CLUB has had the pleasure to serve small business owners and general consumers in Utica and surrounding communities,” said Doug Macklom, general manager. “By offering quality brands and the new benefits at Every Day Low Cost, we hope to continue to do so with our newly expanded location.”

Orders placed by 5 p.m. will be pulled and ready for pickup by 7 a.m. the following day. This added service provides members convenience and is used largely by business members as a time savings benefit.

The expansion will create 50 new jobs, and will generate additional sales tax revenue for Utica. Additionally, through its charitable giving initiative, the company is committed to making a positive impact on the communities it serves. During the ribbon cutting ceremony, Club associates will contribute more than $24,500 to area non-profit organizations through the company’s Good.Works. community involvement program.
