BENTONVILLE, ARK., January 11, 2007 –Sam’s Club, a division of Wal-Mart Stores Inc., and one of the nation’s largest warehouse clubs will open a local facility at 1670 West University Drive.

An exclusive tour for the news media is planned at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 16 during which ten local charities and community organizations will receive grants totaling $36,500. Business Members are invited to attend a breakfast and club preview Wednesday, January 17. Grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremonies begin at 9:45 a.m., Thursday, January 18, as the community comes together to honor the past and to look at the area’s future with great hope.

“We are excited to be serving the needs of the McKinney community with a new Sam’s Club,” said Henry West, club manager. “We appreciate the growing need for ‘green’ products in today’s world and are proud to bring our business to an area that leads the way in bringing these products mainstream. We believe existing members in the region, as well as shoppers unfamiliar with warehouse clubs, will enjoy and find value in our selection of fresh foods, brand name electronics, jewelry and exciting treasure hunt items. In addition, we expect to be better able to serve the number of small businesses in Nash County and the surrounding areas as a convenient partner to help cut costs and achieve further success.”

Some of the McKinney Sam’s Club new features include:
• Outside, a new Sam’s Club logo graces the entry as part of an effort to refresh and update branding.
• Recycled raw materials from a near by Wal-Mart store found a new use under the McKinney Sam’s Club building slab and in its parking lot.
• Trees were relocated from the El Dorado car dealership to grace the street entrance on US 75.

Sam’s Club offers a variety of services including merchant credit card processing and travel services as well as other programs.
