Sam's Club Relocates in Oakwood

New Club offers Pharmacy and Gas Station

BENTONVILLE, Ark., May 5, 2008 –Sam’s Club, a division of Wal-Mart Stores Inc., will celebrate the relocation of its facility at 3839 Mundy Mill Road, Oakwood, GA 30566. The new Club adds new services and more than 40 new jobs.

Grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremonies begin at 9:45 a.m., Thursday, May 15. Prior to Sam’s Club grand opening for the public, an exclusive tour for the news media is planned at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 13 during which 12 local charities and community organizations will receive grants totaling $18,000.

Wednesday, May 14, Business Members are invited to attend a breakfast and club preview from 7:00 a.m. to noon, where new and current business members can be first to shop the new club.

Pharmacy Manager Rimisha Patel will be on hand to speak with residents and existing members about their medications or health and wellness needs following the grand opening ceremonies. The pharmacy area will stock an assortment of $4 generics and offer exceptional values on branded prescriptions. Residents are encouraged to bring in any medications and Sam’s Club will beat the current price from another provider. Membership is not required to use a Sam’s Club pharmacy. The club will also offer a new Optical Center and welcomes Optometrist Robbi Whitaker and Optical Manager Margaret Kelly.

New features provide added convenience for Members with tremendous savings on prescriptions, glasses, digital prints and home meal solutions. Some of the Oakwood Sam’s Club new features include:

  • Pharmacy
  • Optical Center
  • One hour photo center
  • A Members-only gas station and a car wash that reclaims approximately 70% of the water used
  • Energy efficient lighting that harvest daylight to lower energy consumption

This new Club will offer even more variety and selection at a value our members have come to expect.”

Both Business and Advantage Members can save even more on club services and purchases with a Plus Membership earning up to two percent cash back by using a Sam’s Club Discover card.

Regular Club hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Gold Key Hours for business members are 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday, and 7 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
