Bentonville, Ark., August 29, 2008—Sam’s Club, the wholesale division of Walmart, has promoted Cindy Davis to executive vice president of Membership, Marketing and E-commerce. She will continue reporting to Doug McMillon, president and chief executive officer of Sam’s Club.
Most recently, Davis was responsible for Membership and Marketing and has led the organization to achieve several successes including communicating the value of Sam’s Club membership as well as member acquisition and retention through events and other such as Sam’s Club 25th Anniversary and other strategies.
“Cindy has re-energized the Membership and Marketing organization and has proven to be a capable partner leading our effort to integrate these functions with Merchandising and Operations to enhance the member experience and communicate the value of Sam’s Club,” said Doug McMillon. “We expect additional success by bringing the growing and well positioned e-commerce function under her leadership.” Scott Williams, vice president, E-commerce, will now report directly to Davis.
Davis joined Sam’s Club November 5, 2007. Previously, she worked as president of global development and communications at Rapp Collins Worldwide in Dallas. Prior to Rapp Collins, Cindy served as the vice president of brand marketing for Pizza Hut.
Davis also held positions as senior vice president of brand management for Double Tree Hotels and vice president of brand management for Harrah’s Management. She has also held officer positions with Starwood Vacation Ownership, Cooperative Marketing Concepts and Tracy-Locke.
