Bentonville, Ark., September 17 -- Sam’s Club, a division of Walmart, announced today it is relocating its home office to 2101 S.E. 25th Street, Bentonville, Ark., 72712 where associates in merchandising, operations, membership and other departments will now be housed to support its 594 clubs nationwide.
Walmart purchased the facility formerly known as the Superior Building for $29.9 million. Additional details of the transaction will not be disclosed.
Sam’s Club Home Office Associates are expected to relocate during the first quarter of 2009. About 25% of the building will be available to accommodate growth on the Walmart side of the business should that space be needed. Walmart also anticipates re-locating some of its Home Office Associates into the existing Sam’s Club buildings at 508 and 608 S.W. 8th Street.
“This facility will provide Sam’s Club with a unique opportunity to house all of its club support functions under one roof and help us improve our focus on serving associates in the clubs and our members,” said Doug McMillon, president and CEO Sam’s Club. “Walmart continues to grow and this frees up much needed space today and into the future for the company.”
