Sam's Club Opens Evans Location

New Club Offers Growing Community Unparalleled Selection and Services

BENTONVILLE, ARK., October 13, 2008 –Sam’s Club, a division of Walmart Stores Inc., will open a new facility at 3247 23rd Ave. in Evans. Small business owners, college students and moms will soon have a new destination for their shopping needs. The new Club will provide Members with great values on products and services as well as support the local community with new jobs, grants and food donations.

Grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremonies begin at 9:45 a.m., Thursday, October 23. To celebrate the newest Sam’s Club location and the NFL season, Denver Broncos Tight end Tony Scheffler will visit the Club for photo and autograph opportunities on October 23 at noon to 2 p.m.

Prior to opening for the public, an exclusive tour for news media is planned at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 21 during which four local charities and community organizations will receive grants totaling $18,000.

The new Club will also be an active participant in the partnership garnered between Sam’s Club and Feeding America—The Nation’s Food Bank Network. As part of this program, Sam’s Club will donate nutritious, protein-rich food to help support an area food bank.

Business Members are invited to attend a breakfast and Club preview Wednesday, October 22. During the preview, new and current business Members can learn about employee health insurance, Fax-n-Pulltm, Gold Key Hours and other services provided by third party vendors to help their businesses thrive.

“I’m proud to manage this new Sam’s Club and everyone in Evans has been very supportive,” said Brad Arndt, Club Manager. “We look forward to taking care of the community by providing high quality items at a great value and opening a new Club conveniently located for the Evans residents. I anticipate our Members will frequently visit our fresh department, bakery and will enjoy saving time and gas by shopping for their home and business needs at Sam’s Club.”

The new Club also has a host of sustainable features. The white TPO roof is energy star rated and includes 191 skylights. The interior lights automatically and continuously dim over the sales floor as the daylight contribution increases. The skylights will help save approximately 200,000 kilowatt hours per year.

Both Business and Advantage Members can save even more on Club services and purchases with a PLUS Membership earning up to two percent cash back by using a Sam’s Club Discover card.

Regular Club hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Gold Key Hours for business members are 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday, and 7 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
