BENTONVILLE, Ark., March 19, 2009 – With spring entertaining occasions including Easter, Passover, Mother’s Day, bridal or baby showers, graduation and more just around the corner, it’s time for hosts across the country to finish the guest list, design the invitations and most important – plan their menus. Just in time to help with these important details without sacrificing quality or going over budget, Sam’s Club is hosting its first-ever “Taste of Spring.” The three-day event will be held nationwide from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., April 3-5 and will showcase dozens of menu items perfect for any spring gathering.
Non-members are welcome and to help guests discover how they could be saving all year, Sam’s Club is waiving the service fee on any purchase during the event. As consumers nationwide look to save money by entertaining family and friends at home, Sam’s Club provides the variety, taste, quality and value needed to make any occasion a success. The Taste of Spring event is intended to help inform and inspire the most seasoned to even reluctant hosts, by solving their entertaining or everyday meal dilemmas.
“Sam’s Club is a great destination for any entertaining event,” said Wolfgang Puck, world-renowned chef and caterer to the stars. “Demonstration and sampling events, like Taste of Spring, provide members and guests a chance to try new products or discover unique twists to traditional favorites. I will be preparing some of my signature dishes for various media outlets throughout the country to help everyone gear up for the season.”
Puck also offers these entertaining and cooking tips for home cooks:
- Balance moderately priced ingredients with excellent execution and personalization by incorporating “family secret recipes or preparation techniques.”
- Begin with thoughtful preparation and excellent seasoning to make it a meal guests will remember.
- The most important thing in cooking is to taste as you go. Never serve anything you have not tasted.
- When entertaining larger groups, make sure to get organized with all the tools you’ll need including knives, pots and pans and serving dishes. Stainless-Steel Cookware is elegant enough to bring right out to the table.
The Taste of Spring event will also feature several delicious menu options at great values including a bridal shower buffet complete with salmon, shrimp, quiche, dinner rolls with cucumber and feta spread as well as, pineapple, strawberries and cheesecake for $5.31 per person. Easter brunch solutions include ham, quiche, Boursin cheese, French bread, Caprese salad, a side vegetable and pecan rolls, at $3.32 per person.
From petite quiches, to jumbo cooked shrimp, glazed crossfire filets, tuxedo cheesecake and fresh strawberries, the Sam’s Club demo team will be serving up mouthwatering selections throughout the weekend. An estimated 12,000 associates across the country are planned to help prepare for the “Taste of Spring,” and about 300,000 pounds of food are expected to be served.
Sam’s Club also carries a full selection of Wolfgang Puck products including knives, pots and pans, and serving dishes and during Taste of Spring, members and guests can learn about a private cooking class with Wolfgang Puck in Los Angeles to be featured as a Once-in-a-Lifetime™ package for purchase on samsclub.com.
