Sam’s Club announces nationwide participation in HUGGIES® Every Little Bottom Counts program to help provide diapers to families in need. During the month of October, Sam’s Club Members will not only save on diapers, they can also donate unopened packages of diapers (any brand, size, and quantity) at their local Club. With the help ofFeeding America, each clubwill donate these diapers to the Every Little Bottom program, where they will be distributed to families in need. In addition, HUGGIES® will donate one diaper for every package of HUGGIES® wipes or diapers sold at Sam’s Club.
Filling Need for Moms and Babies
A study commissioned by HUGGIES® reveals that diaper need is a critical issue in the U.S. and one in three moms struggle with diaper needs.* "The need for diapers is enormous. And it's everywhere,” said Joanne Goldblum, The Diaper Bank. “They’re a basic necessity many people in need simply can't afford. It took me two years working with these families and doing research to figure out that there was absolutely no public subsidy, including food stamps or WIC, to cover diapers,” she continued.
The development of Every Little Bottom was the result of HUGGIES® inaugural "Diaper Summit" held in September 2009. Summit members discussed the importance of helping moms get enough diapers for their babies. In June, the program was publicly launched.
In the next eight months, HUGGIES® will donate up to 22.5 million diapers to babies in need in the U.S. and Canada. As a first step in distributing this donation, HUGGIES® is donating 2 million diapers to community diaper bank partners in the U.S.
