Indianapolis Sam’s Club® Gets New Look, Expanded Selections

Sam’s Club enhances the shopping experience at its first Indianapolis location as it unveils a fresh, new look this week that expands popular categories. In addition to offering new items, the club’s layout has been modified to make shopping easier and faster by placing the most purchased products in more convenient locations. These changes bring the Sam’s Club brand—Savings Made Simple—to life on both the interior and exterior of the facility.  The company expects to remodel 150 facilities similarly this year.

“We listened to our members and expanded the departments that are most important to them, such as fresh foods, meat, baby care and health and wellness products,” said Michael Kantner, club manager. “This is one more way we can give our members superior value and an exceptional shopping experience. Our new layout makes shopping simple.”

Simple Changes

The Indianapolis Sam’s Club has expanded its infant department, adding a wider selection of diapers, formula, and baby food. The infant department located at the front of store close is near the pharmacy and expanded health and wellness department, which offers more over the counter medicines and health and beauty aids. The Indianapolis Sam’s Club will also offers customers a new hearing center, offering free hearing screenings and a dedicated staff to help with hearing aid products.

Members will also appreciate the expanded meat and fresh department, offering freshly prepared home meal solutions and choice meats.  Some of the finest artisan cheeses from England, France, Ireland, Italy and Spain will be available in the new fresh department as well, which is adjacent to the expanded wine department.

Jewelry will be located near apparel and books to accommodate member requests to shop these three categories together as will movies and music move to the electronics department.

Even with all the changes, Sam’s Club still guarantee 100 percent member satisfaction and exceptional quality at a superior value. A 2009 found Sam’s Club saves consumers, on average, 30.4 percent on some of the most frequently purchased product categories versus grocery and specialty retailers.*

Shopping Made Simple

Members will also notice new way-finding signs including iconic graphics throughout the club to highlight the major departments and associates are ready to assist members in finding products.

To make shopping easier, members can also use personal shopping service, Click ‘n’ Pull®. At no additional cost, customers can order items online to be picked up at the club. If ordered by 5 p.m., they can pick up their complete shopping order of items at their local Sam’s Club the following day. Click ‘n’ Pull is an easy way to fit exceptional savings in an already busy schedule.

For Plus Members, shoppers can enter the Club earlier and take advantage of extended shopping hours, starting at 7 a.m.
